Waikaretu Marae serves a remote Northland community where extended power outages can occur due to its isolated location. To improve energy security and ensure the marae remains operational during grid outages, we designed and installed a robust three-phase hybrid solar and battery system.
The system features a high-capacity battery storage solution integrated with a 45kVA backup generator, allowing the marae to operate independently of the electricity network whenever required. This provides a reliable and continuous power supply during outages, ensuring the marae can continue to support the local community when it's needed most.
